Role
Company
Designed a safety-critical monitoring system for autonomous shuttles, bridging the gap between Level 4 tech and legacy operator mental models to ensure operational trust.

Project overview & role
Omnivise is the flagship digital ecosystem for Siemens Energy, managing global power plants & fleet assets. I served as a UX Lead, heading a dedicated design team in Pune, India, while collaborating closely with the core design & engineering stakeholders in Germany.
My role was to bridge the gap between global brand standards & the localized execution of high-density industrial applications.
Discovery
Silo effect
Our international product squads were operating in isolation. Because there was no centralized single source of truth, teams were reinventing the wheel for every new feature.
Reality: Identical functions looked & behaved differently across tools.
Risk: For power plant operators, these inconsistencies weren't just a branding issue; they were a cognitive safety risk when switching between monitoring modules during critical events.
Problem at hand
Inherited design debt
We inherited an ecosystem where speed-to-market had compromised systemic consistency.
Industrial density: The existing brand guidelines were primarily marketing-focused; they lacked the technical grit required to display multiple data points on a single dashboard without overwhelming the user.
Standardization gap: There was a lack of unified documentation; we translated abstract brand values into concrete, reusable UI patterns that worked across different technical stacks.
Solution
Industrializing the brand
Working as a unified global force, we pivoted the strategy from simply building a UI Kit to establishing a Scalable Governance Framework.
The component audit: I led my team in identifying universal patterns across Fleet Monitoring & Diagnostics. We standardized complex, data-heavy components to ensure glanceability at scale.
The Newton adaptation: We industrialized the Siemens Newton brand to create a high-density UI library that maintained brand integrity without sacrificing professional utility.
Results
Unified intelligence
Global alignment: Successfully unified the global product squads under one cohesive UX language, bridging the design gap between the German & Indian teams.
Systemic consistency: Eliminated the majority of UI inconsistencies across the Omnivise suite, creating a One Siemens experience for the end-user.
Developer empowerment: Enabled engineering teams to ship production-ready interfaces without requiring a designer for every minor iteration, significantly increasing velocity.
Lessons learned
Leadership through logic
Reduced Time-to-Market: Standardized components cut down the design-to-dev handoff time significantly across the global organization.
Operational blueprint: Established the architectural foundation that allowed the Omnivise ecosystem to scale from desktop-heavy monitoring into a responsive, multi-platform industrial suite.
